Chtaura is a traditional rest stop to the Beqaa visitors and tourists.  From there, one can head north to Baalbeck, south to Lake Qaroun and east to Damascus and Jordan.  It is the Beqaa's second commercial center after Zahle with many banks and small exchange shops.
