In 1937, a cave was discovered in Antelias which contained the remains of human skeletons and artifacts that dated back 30,000 years.  The cave no longer exists.  Today, Antelias is an active residential town through which 2 major highways cross, the first leading North to Tripoli and the other heading East towards key Mount Lebanon summer resort villages.
