A small summer town with abundant springs, Barouk claims the nations largest protected natural reserve, the Shouf Cedar forest.  A number of restaurants and family parks line up the road that leads to the preserve.  Driving to the summit above the cedar grove one can gain a panoramic view of the Beqaa valley
