(1050m - 50km from Beirut)
Ehmej's key attraction is its old oak trees. The town dates
back to the Roman age, according to the excavations. Various
inscriptions and a Roman road, that presumably linked Byblos to Baalbeck,
indicate that Ehmej was a crucial pass way. In recent
history, Ehmej was the administrative center of Byblos. |
