This sport has in recent years acquired a notable interest by
children and adults alike. This is made evident by rise in
bicycle purchase and the increase in bicycle use on the evenings and
weekends as one can observe.
Despite the fact that bicycle tracks are non-existent in Lebanon, this
sport can be practiced in recently renovated Beirut Central District,
where traffic is blocked on most streets. It is also possible
for one to enjoy a bike ride along the Cornish, by the seaside.
However, it is more enjoyable and interesting to cycle inland away
from the cities in the mountainous regions. There one can enjoy
the fresh air and the beautiful scenery on any winding off-road.
There are several eco-clubs that organize outdoor activities including
biking for reasonable prices. One doesn't need to own a bicycle
to participate in such activities, for it is possible to rent a bike
for $10 per day from bicycle rental stores. |
