The
innumerable and rich archeological sites spread in every corner of Lebanon
tell the story of the many invading civilizations that once inhabited this
beautiful land. The visitor is never disappointed as each site
reveals a particular phase in history, sometimes overlapping. One
can observe the ruins of a Roman Temple built on the foundation of a Phoenician
worship site. Other ruins from the Crusader and Mamlouk eras surface
