Excavations
in Bikfaya have shown that it once was the consecrated shrine of the
Phoenician Baal (god) Rachaf. Today, Bikfaya has grown into a summer
resort, and is known for its fruits (peaches and cherries), and water
springs. The town relies on its natural beauty and pleasant weather to
attract visitors.
Bikfaya organizes a flower fesitval every August.
